It has been a phenomenal season for the men's and women's hockey teams. Both teams are set to play in the Championships, and the ACAC has recognized their success by naming five players to the All-Conference teams.
Women's 2022-2023 ACAC Hockey All-Conference team athletes from the NAIT Ooks:
First Team - Hailey Cruickshank – Cruickshank is a two-way defenceman who won't wow you with her flashiness but plays the game correctly. She is a steady defender who rarely makes mistakes and always seems to be in the proper position. She's a great puck mover and skater who can evade the forecheck with a quick first pass or her elite skating ability. Cruickshank appeared in 16 games this year and has suited up in 31 over her career, registering eight points. She is a second-year student-athlete in the Bachelor of Business Administration program.
First Team – Cheyanna Harden – Harden was sensational for the Ooks in her first season with the club. Her 20 points led the Ooks and ranked second in the ACAC. She is a two-way forward who is relied on in all areas of the game. She's an excellent puck distributor, leading the ACAC in assists with 14. Harden played in 19 games this season. She is a second-year student-athlete in the Alternative Energy Technology program.
Second Team – Bre Martin – Martin is a power forward who imposes her will using her size and strength to her ability. She's a great skater and puck handler who is a force in all aspects of the game. She ranked in a tie for second in goals with eight and third in points with 17 amongst ACAC skaters. She suited up in 19 games this season and 50 over her three-year career with the Ooks. Martin is a fourth-year student-athlete in the Bachelor of Technology program.
Men's 2022-2023 ACAC Hockey All-Conference team athletes from the NAIT Ooks:
First Team – Dylan Stewart – Stewart is an offensive-gifted forward with elite finishing and passing ability. He makes his linemates better and always seems to make the right play. Stewarts led the Ooks with 29 points and ranked second in league scoring. He played in all 24 games for the Ooks this season and has suited up in 92 games spanning his four-year career with the club. Stewart is a fourth-year student-athlete in the Open Studies program.
Second Team – Bjorn Robinson – Robinson is a highly skilled forward. He's an elite passer who excels in finding his open teammates. He finished in a tie for first in the ACAC in assists with 21. Robinson can also burn the opposition with his speed, getting himself in the right areas to make a play. He appeared in all 24 games registering 26 points sitting in a tie for fourth in league scoring. Robinson is a second-year student-athlete in the Business Administration program.
