The journey kicks off on October 6th when they hit the road to face off against the SAIT Trojans. The next day, on October 7th, they'll be on the road again, facing Medicine Hat College. Their home opener is set for Friday, October 13th, at 7 PM, where they'll go head-to-head against SAIT in front of their loyal fans. It's just the beginning of a 25-game season that promises plenty of thrilling moments.
"We are excited for the season coming up!" Said Head Coach Brendan Jensen. "With the addition of a sixth team to the league, it adds a few more games in conference play and the chance to travel as a team overnight, which is an exciting opportunity for our program."
Coach Jensen clarifies the team's aspirations: "Our goal has been laid out since day one, and that is to be competing on the final day of competition in March." The determination to succeed is palpable.
The team's dynamics are in top shape. With 19 returning players and the addition of seven talented recruits, the squad is ready to get started.
Beyond the games, the season promises exciting events that go beyond the rink. Mark your calendars for Pink at the Rink Night on Friday, October 20th (jerseys will be auctioned off during the game), Chuck-A-Puck on Friday, November 17th (taking place after the game), Ooks Alumni Game on Saturday, January 6th, and Mental Health Awareness on Friday, January 26th (jerseys will be auctioned off during the game). The excitement continues with Chuck-A-Puck on Saturday, February 17th (taking place after the game).
The team is proud to continue its Honorary Captain Program. If you'd like more information or to participate, contact Head Coach Brendan Jensen at BJENSEN@nait.ca and become a part of this special initiative.
