Ooks ready for another successful season.
The NAIT Ooks badminton team led by 2nd-year head coach Sinead Cheah are looking to continue their ACAC dominance in 2017-2018 and once again qualify for Nationals.
Last season was a huge success NAIT was able to qualify ten athletes total (5 female & 5 males) to participate in the CCAA Badminton National Championship. Though they didn't come out of the CCAA championships with the prospected medals they were striving for; it was a successful year all around. "It was a season of firsts in accomplishments and experiences," said head coach Sinead Cheah.
The team has come back stronger than last year with quite a few veterans returning and the addition of female player Eyota Kwan. With continued experience and a seasoned outlook on the competition, the Ooks hope to come out on top again this year in the ACAC, hope to come home with a few National medals. "This is our year," said Cheah
The NAIT Ooks will open up their season this Sunday, Nov.19th when they head to the first ACAC tournament of the season being held at the Concordia University of Edmonton.
