Sinead was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario before moving to Edmonton in 2007. She was involved in the badminton community from a very young age. She trained professionally from age 14 through 22 in Ontario and Alberta.
Sinead played 4 years for the NAIT Ooks badminton team, where she captured 4 ACAC conference championships and 2 CCAA National championships. She earned Architecture and Interior Design diplomas and is currently working in her graduated industry.
NAIT Athletics Manager Jordan Richey had this to say about the 2nd year badminton head coach.
"Sinead's commitment to NAIT Athletics and specifically the badminton program is second to none. Having witnessed Sinead as a player at NAIT for four season, a CCAA Female Apprentice and assistant coach, and now a head coach of a championship program has been inspiring to watch. The department is incredibly proud of Sinead and wish her and the team nothing but success moving forward."
Sinead leads the NAIT Ooks this weekend at the 2018 ACAC badminton conference championships hosted at The King's University. The top ranked Ooks will play the #4 seeded Olds College Broncos in the team event semi-final Saturday. The individual event championships will be held Sunday with the top two finishers in each of the 5 events moving on to the CCAA National Championships held March 1-3 at Concordia University of Edmonton.
