The NAIT Ooks continued their 2017-2018 success by capturing CCAA gold in Men’s Doubles and Mixed Double’s. Imran Wadia wins Player of the Year honours, while Sinead Cheah earns CCAA Coach of the Year.
Edmonton, Alta. - On Saturday afternoon the NAIT Ooks' Imran Wadia/Nick Roque earned gold in men's doubles, while Jeffrey Ko/Eyota Kwan earned gold as well winning the mixed double competition at CCAA Championships at Concordia University of Edmonton.
Jeffrey Ko and Eyota Kwan started the day off when they defeated Arpit Taneja and Crystal Qu of the Humber Hawks in the mixed doubles final 2-0 (22-20,21-19).
Imran Wadia and Nick Roque followed it up by defeating Cameron Lai and Darcy Schmidt of the Humber Hawks 2-1 (21-16,17-21,21-12).
Cailyn New/Kaitlyn Wilbee (women's doubles) and Tyler Walsh/Luc Ly-Nyugen both lost in the bronze medal match ultimately finishing in 4th.
To top off the successful weekend, Imran Wadia earned CCAA All-Canadian and CCAA Male Player of The Year, while head coach Sinead Cheah was named CCAA Coach of the Year.
