Trygg Jensen Honoured as 2018-19 ACAC Men’s Curling Athlete of the Year
Olds AB (February 26, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Trygg Jensen of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2018-19 ACAC men's curling Player of the Year.
Trygg skipped his team to a perfect 12-0 regular season after going 6-o in both regional tournaments. At the ACAC Championship Trygg continued his dominance going undefeated through round robin play only to be upset in the final by the Concordia Thunder to claim an ACAC silver medal. Trygg was also named to the ACAC All-Conference Team. Trygg will now be skipping his team at the CCAA/Curling Canada National Championships in Fredericton, NB., March 15th – 19th.
NAIT Ooks head coach, Jules Owchar said: "Trygg was extremely determined this season to get his team back to nationals. He was nearly perfect this season when it came to shot making. He is a great leader and can be relied upon in every situation."
Trygg is a third year Bachelor of Business Administration student from Whitehorse, Yukon.
This prestigious award was presented to Simard at the 2019 ACAC Curling Championship held Feb. 22-24 at Olds College.
