EDMONTON, ALTA. - The NAIT Ooks men's basketball team defeated the King's Eagles 70-47 Friday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.
The NAIT Ooks started 2019 with a strong outing, outscoring the Eagles 20-9 in the opening quarter. King's responded in the second quarter outscoring NAIT 18-17, but still found themselves trailing by 10 at halftime. In the second half, the Ooks would pull away outscoring the Eagles in both quarters 11-5 and 22-15 to take the game 70-47.
"Our defense is starting to get better. To hold them to 47 points is good for our confidence and reinforces what we want to do. We need to shoot better and sometimes we get caught watching, but overall it was a good game for us," said NAIT Ooks head coach, Mike Connolly.
