The NAIT Ooks men's basketball team tipped off against the visiting Medicine Hat College Rattlers. The Ooks won the game 84-80.
The first quarter was tight between the Ooks and the Rattlers. The score was close throughout the quarter. The Rattlers were able to end the quarter with a four-point lead.
After the first quarter, the Rattlers had the lead 21-17.
In the second quarter, the closeness of the game continued. The Rattlers held onto their lead throughout the half. Right before the halftime break, the Ooks took a timeout to make a play to make a basket before the buzzer.
At halftime, the Rattlers led 44-42.
At the beginning of the second half, the Ooks tied the game after number six, Luka Korosec, intercepted a pass to have a fast break. Korosec missed the layup, but number twenty-two, Nhiall Kuech, got the rebound and put the ball in the basket. The Ooks worked tirelessly to gain the lead in the game, but the Rattlers held tightly onto the lead.
After the third quarter, the Rattlers lead 64-59.
The fourth quarter was tight between the Rattlers and Ooks. Both teams worked hard on offence and even harder on defence. The Rattlers' defence made it difficult for the Ooks' top scorers to get a shot off. With three minutes left in the game, the Ooks trailed behind by five points. The Ooks tied the game with two minutes left. The game stayed tied for close to a minute before the Ooks got a one-point lead on the Rattlers.
The Ooks made a comeback to win the game 84-80.
The players of the game were number three, Dante Dinter, from the NAIT Ooks and number ten, Nylah Seaborn, from the Medicine Hat Rattlers.
