NAIT/MacEwan All-Stars defeat Edmonton Oilers Rookies.

EDMONTON, AB.  – Thomas Foster's goal at 8:54 of the 1st period proved to be the winner as the NAIT/MacEwan All-Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers Rookies 2-0 in the inaugural match up of this new partnership.

The All-Stars goals were scored by Thomas Foster at 8:54 of the 1st period, and by Jarid Hauptman at 17:29 of the 3rd period. On the other side, the Oilers were unable to solve the All-Stars goalie's, failing to find the back of the net.

Despite being outshot (49-19) the All-Stars were able to take an early lead and hold on to it for the rest of the game. A big reason for this win was attributed to stellar goaltending with a joint shutout being posted by the Griffins Marc-Olivier Daigle (19 saves) and Ooks Nathan Park (30 saves). "It was a good road win. You need goaltending and timely scoring, which we had tonight," said Co-Head Coach Tim Fragle, after the game.

This game marks the end of the Oiler's rookie campaign, with a 3-1 record, with their only loss coming to the All-Stars. NAIT and MacEwan will now split squads, and face off head to head this Saturday in the NAIT Arena at 6:00 pm, in an ACAC preseason match up.
