Ooks defeat Vikings
CAMROSE, AB. - Jarid Hauptman's goal in the 2:19 into the 2nd overtime proved to be the winner as the NAIT Ooks defeated the Augustan Vikings 3-2 in ACAC men's hockey action Saturday night in Camrose.
The Ooks goals were scored by Jake Mykitiuk, Corey Chorneyko and Jarid Hauptman, respectively, while Travis Mayan and Mitch McMullin replied in a losing cause for the Vikings.
Overall, the Ooks outshot the Vikings 49-30, with Nathan Park posting his first win of the season making 28 saves.
With this win, NAIT moves to 1-0-0 on the season putting them in a tie for first place in the ACAC, while Augustan falls to 0-1-0. The Ooks will now turn around and play host to the Vikings tomorrow night at 6:00 pm.
