OOKS START OFF 2018 WITH A WEEKEND SWEEP

Edmonton, AB - Francis Menard's goal in double overtime proved to be winner as the NAIT Ooks defeated the Augustana Vikings 7-6 in ACAC men's hockey action Saturday night at the NAIT Arena.

The Ooks goals were scored by Francis Menard (x2), Jake Mykitiuk (x2), Issac Farrah and Ty Stanton (x2), while Travis Mayan, Joe Olson, Zaine Walker, Jimmy Sheehan, Cody Fiala and Mitch McMullin replied in a losing cause for the Vikings.

Overall, the Ooks outshot the Vikings by 52-21 shots on net.

With this win, NAIT improves to 13-1-1-1 and remain first in the ACAC, while the Vikings fall to 9-5-2 and move down to the fourth place in the ACAC. The Ooks next match is on the road when they go visit the Briercrest Clippers for a weekend series Friday January 12th and Saturday January 13th in Saskatchewan.
