The NAIT Ooks will once again be paying extra attention to the Canadian Women's Hockey Team during this Olympiad. Former NAIT men's hockey goaltender, Shannon Szabados is making her third Olympic debut when Team Canada takes on the Olympic Athletes from Russia on February 11th in Pyeongchang. 

Shannon competed at the Olympics in 2010 and 2014 where she won consecutive Gold medals. In between her last two Olympic games, Shannon played for the NAIT Ooks men's hockey team for two seasons (2011-2013). During her time at NAIT she posted a 22-9-2 record, with a 2.04 GAA and a .913 SV%. She also posted 7 shutouts, including setting the regular season record with 5 in 2012-2013. Shannon won a Gold and Silver medal in her two seasons at NAIT.
