EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Edmonton Oilers rookies will faceoff against a NAIT-MacEwan All-Star Team comprised of players from the NAIT Ooks and MacEwan Griffins for the second straight year at Rogers Place on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 pm. 

The NAIT Ooks are used to competing against the MacEwan Griffins, after meeting in the finals of the past two Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Men's Hockey Championships. The game will be the second straight year that they put their differences aside and team up to take on the Oilers Rookies.

"This partnership between MacEwan, NAIT and the Oilers is tremendous. This game showcases the amazing talent of our student-athletes and truly elevates hockey in our city," said Dr. Glenn Feltham President and CEO of NAIT.

The NAIT Ooks have been a juggernaut in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference for the better part of the last decade. The Ooks have finished first in league standings for the past six seasons (2012-2018), amassing a combined 150-11-8-3 regular season record, outscoring their opponents 937-349. During these six years, they have captured three ACAC Championships and three ACAC silver medals, including one undefeated championship season (36-0-0) in 2015-2016.

"We are pleased to partner with MacEwan to take on the Oilers for a second annual game. Showcasing our student-athletes in an NHL environment is great. We look forward to building upon last year's event and hope to get as many Ooks supporters out to the game as possible," said John Bower, NAIT Athletic Director.

The NAIT-MacEwan All-stars won the first inaugural game 2-0 last year and will be looking to repeat on September 11^th.

"Our program is excited to participate in the Oiler Rookie event again," said head coach Tim Fragle. "Our student-athletes along with the student-athlete from MacEwan will show the hockey community the high caliber hockey that the ACAC offers which in turn creates positive exposure for all parties involved."

Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, August 24 at 10:00 AM MT at EdmontonOilers.com. All tickets are general admission and are priced at $25 each plus applicable fees.
