NAIT's men's and women's soccer teams started the season undefeated after a weekend in Ft.McMurray.
EDMONTON, ATLA. - The women's and men's soccer teams opened up their 2018-2019 season in Ft.McMurray this past weekend as they took on the Keyano Huskies. Both teams had a very successful weekend returning to Edmonton Sunday night undefeated.
On Saturday the women's team defeated the Huskies 6-0 in a commanding victory, with Kaily Mohn leading the way scoring four goals, which earned her Player of the Game recognition. The men followed up with a hard-fought tie against the defending ACAC Champions Huskies. They started slow out of the gate, however, rallied back to settle for a 2-2 draw. David Doe was named Player of the Game.
The following day the women would pick up right where they left off as they shut the Keyano out once again winning 12-0. Marissa Webb scored four goals and earned Player of the Game, while Kaily Mohn followed up by adding another three. The men would follow with a similar performance earning a commanding 6-0 victory. David Doe and Matt Zima both potted two goals in the shutout victory, Zima was also named Player of the Game.
The Ooks will now host the GPRC Wolves in their home opener on Sunday, September 16th at 12:00 pm & 2:00 pm.
