The NAIT men's soccer team defeated the King's Eagles 6-1 on Sunday afternoon to complete the weekend sweep.
EDMONTON, ALTA. - Matthew McLean had a hat-trick as the NAIT Ooks defeated the King's Eagles 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Clareview Turf Field.
Following a scoreless first half, the Ooks would find their stride when Abe Dukuly broke the tie with his goal in the 60th minute. It seemed like that was all the NAIT needed to get going as Cristian Lima added a goal of his own one minute later, Matthew McLean then made it three goals in five minutes as he scored in the 65th minute. King's would get on the board in the 75th minute when Dorian Jacobs found the back of the net. Matthew McLean would respond for the Ooks as he pots his second of the game, followed by Cristian Lima adding his second of the game. McLean then completed his Hat-Trick with a late goal to bring the final score to 6-1 for NAIT.
The Ooks now move to 7-0-1 and remain atop the ACAC North Division, they will now play host the GPRC Wolves at the Emerald Hills Sports Pavillion in Sherwood Park, 2:00pm kickoff.
