CALGARY, ALTA., (MARCH 1, 2018) — The host SAIT Trojans defeated the NAIT Ooks in quarter-final action Thursday evening at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women's Basketball Championship at SAIT.
Alicia Tan scored 19 points, while teammate Mel Thera added eight points and 18 rebounds to lead the Trojans to victory. Sydney Hurlburt responded with 18 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort for the Ooks.
Thera was named the Trojans Earl's Kitchen and Bar Player of the Game. Hurlburt was named the Ooks Player of the Game.
The win sends the Trojans on to one of the event's semifinal games tomorrow night at 8 pm against the winner of Thursday's late game between Medicine Hat College and Concordia University of Edmonton.
NAIT will move to the consolation side of the draw and will meet the loser Concordia at tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm.
