The NAIT Ooks women's basketball team defeated the Keyano Huskies 73-51 on Friday night.
EDMONTON, ALTA. - Sydney Hurlburt and Allie Hunder dropped 17 points each as the NAIT Ooks women's basketball team defeated the Keyano Huskies 73-51 Friday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.
The NAIT Ooks came out firing to start the game, as they outscored the visiting Keyano Huskies 26-10 in the opening quarter. The Huskies slowed the bleeding in what would be a defensive second quarter, as the Ooks would only outscore the Huskies 9-7.
With a 35-17 lead to begin the second half, NAIT would once again step on the gas putting up 22 points to Keyano's 6. The Huskies would try to battle back in the fourth outscoring the Ooks 28-16, but the deficit would be too big to overcome, as they fell 73-51.
"We played solid defense and we shared the ball well. We had contributions from our entire lineup, our veterans continued to be consistent for us, while our younger players stepped up as well. They had two key players not show up until the second half due to school, which changed things a bit in the second half. Tomorrow we will have put in another good performance to come away with the win," said NAIT head coach, Todd Warnick following the game.
