EDMONTON, ALTA. - The NAIT Ooks women's basketball team fell 48-44 to the King's Eagles Friday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.
The King's Eagles came out strong outscoring the Ooks 12-10 in both of the first two quarters to give them a 24-20 lead headed into the half. NAIT would respond in the third quarter outscoring the Eagles 15-12, but would then be outscored once again in the final frame to fall 48-44.
"They were tougher and more physical than we were, bottom line they wanted it more. We need to improve our compete level tomorrow," said NAIT Ooks head coach, Todd Warnick.
Despite the loss, Fifth-year guard Leah Vandenboogaard played her 100th career game for the Ooks. She is the 7th player in NAIT history to do so.
