In the first quarter, the Ooks were able to get out to an early lead. However, it was neck and neck as Eagles Forward Alyssa York was dominant in the paint. The Eagles struggled defensively against the Ooks as they continued to drive the hoop and control the offensive glass, creating easy second-chance points. The Ooks out-hustled the eagles throughout the first quarter. Ooks were forcing turnovers leading to fastbreak points. Ooks led 15-10 after 10 minutes of play.
In the second quarter, the Ooks continued to hold on to their lead; Abi Payne and Elizabeth Salcedo were out hustling the Eagles on the offensive glass. Nonetheless, the Eagles offense finally seemed to be coming together. Ooks got into foul trouble, which allowed the Eagles to take the lead early in quarter two. The game was back and forth, with both teams exchanging the lead. The Eagles began to gain some momentum; however, it was short-lived, with the Ooks draining back-to-back threes from Payton Neilson and Lucy Wilde. The Ooks continued to cause the Eagles problems inbounding the ball as the Ooks started to pressure with a full-court press. The Ooks pulled away late in the quarter, heading into halftime with a 10-point lead, 34-24.
In the third quarter, the Eagles started strong controlling the glass; Aneilia Ayotte and Alyssa Yorke played a significant role in that. The Eagles were slowly chipping away at the lead that the Ooks had. With the Ooks struggling defensively, they call their first time out of the half. The Ooks started to move the ball around, creating good looks in the paint and beyond the arc. The Ooks let the Eagles hang around as they began to generate momentum. The Ooks managed to hold on to their lead heading into the fourth, 46-39.
In the fourth quarter, the Eagles defense came to life, forcing the Ooks to turn the ball over, which led to easy fastbreak points for the Eagles. Eagles forwards Alyssa Yorke and Jordanna Rivet helped cut the lead down to three. However, it wasn't long before the momentum swung back in the Ooks' favor, and they began to pull ahead with great offensive possessions from Ellie and Lucy Wilde. The Ooks' defense swarmed the Eagles in the paint, making it miserable for them to cut into the Ooks lead. Ooks pulled away late with big shots from Lucy Wilde and Payton Neilson. Ooks were able to capture their 3rd win of the season, 66-57, over King's University.
