On Saturday evening, the NAIT Ooks women's basketball team played the visiting Olds College Broncos in the NAIT gymnasium. After a close game, the Broncos won 65-56.
In the first quarter, the Ooks came out strong as they started the game with an incredible three-pointer from number seven Ellie Wilde, and the Ooks quickly grew their lead as the Broncos struggled defensively. The Broncos' number fifteen, Rio Yamazaki, made two threes bringing the Broncos back to life. But the Ooks weren't letting up on their lead with great drives by number six Payton Neilson.

In the second quarter, the Ooks struggled defensively and lost the lead to the Broncos. The Ooks were looking to shift the momentum and regroup, so they called a timeout. The Ooks' defence struggled against the Broncos' offence, yet they stayed close with their excellent back door drives from number eight Lucy Wilde. Nonetheless, the Broncos did not want to let go of their lead going into the second half.
The game is all tied up 33-33 at halftime.
After halftime, both teams were neck and neck, with neither able to break away from the other, until the Broncos' number twenty-four, Noa Jessen, hit a three-point baseline shot that sparked the momentum for the broncos to pull ahead. The Broncos were quickly leaving behind the Ooks; however, it wasn't long before the momentum seemed to shift as the Ooks closed the point gap. The Broncos managed to hold the lead.
The Broncos lead 48-42 after the third quarter over the Ooks.
The Ooks struggled to shut down the Broncos' offence at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Broncos had increased their lead with massive drives from number six Caitlin Paul. The Ooks continued to try to close the lead with great jump shots from number fifteen, Kaytlyn Poberznick. But they fell short, and the Broncos won the game.
The Broncos won the game 65-56.
