EDMONTON, ALTA. - Julia Wing's double-overtime goal gave the NAIT Ooks a 6-5 win in double overtime over the RDC Queens on Saturday night at the NAIT Arena.
Both teams came out strong, following a close game last night. There was no scoring until the 13:11 mark of the first period when Jenn Gaeckle scored, followed shortly by Jordan McMillan to put the Ooks up 2-0. With 1:12 remaining Mariah McKersie cut the RDC deficit to one as she scored on the powerplay.
In the second, Verca Kuzelova opened up the scoring 5:37 into the period to give NAIT a 3-1 lead. Jessi-Lynn Sumaling for the Queens and Megan LeBlanc for the Ooks both scored before the end of the period. Ooks up 4-2 through forty minutes.
The third period led to a flurry of goals, as the Ooks led 5-3 heading late into the game when the RDC Queens scored two quick goals to tie the game at five forcing overtime.
In overtime, it was Julia Wing who sealed the deal for the Ooks in double overtime handing them a 6-5 win.

With this win, the Ooks improve to 14-2-2 and remain in first place. The RDC Queens fall to 7-8-3 and remain in third.
