NAIT women's soccer team defeat the Augustana Vikings 8-0.
EDMONTON-ALTA. - The weather finally permitted the NAIT Ooks women's soccer team to host their first home game of the 2018-2019 season. The offensive tandem of Kaily Mohn and Kennedy Hennig were too much for the Augustana Vikings to handle as they both had a hat-trick, leading the Ooks to an 8-0 victory over the Vikings Sunday afternoon on the NAIT Soccer Field.
Kaily Mohn struck quickly in the first half for the Ooks. Kennedy Hennig followed up with two goals of her own, and then Mohn would find the back of the net again to put the NAIT up 4-0 at halftime.
Early in the second half Kennedy Hennig was right back at it completing the hat trick putting her team up 5-0. It was all Ooks from there, as Yumi Ishimura and Katelyn Grado both added a goal. Kaily Mohn scored the eighth and final goal completing her hat-trick. NAIT outshot Augustana 37-2.
The Ooks will now play the Concordia Thunder Wednesday night at Emerald Hill Sports Pavillion in Sherwood Park at (time TBD). They will then travel to Camrose to take on the Augustana Vikings again on September 29th.
