Edmonton, AB - Hannah Gorgichuk recorded a team-high 12 kills and scored 13 points as the NAIT Ooks women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 set victory (25-21, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-23) over the undefeated and #1 team in the country the Lakeland Rustlers Saturday night at the NAIT Gymnasium.
Jamie Bain added 29 assists while Lauren Smith was the top player on defence with 19 digs in a winning cause for the Ooks. Avery Maginel led the Rustlers with 13 digs and 14 points.
With this win, the Ooks record improves to 14-6 and sit on the 3rd place in the North Division of the ACAC, while the Rustlers fall to 19-1 and remain first in the North Division of the ACAC. NAIT's next match is Friday February 9th at 6:00pm when they take on the King's Eagles on their last home game of the regular season.
