NAIT Ooks men's soccer player Ousman Maheshe is a force to be reckoned with on the soccer pitch. He is the top scorer in the ACAC this season, with ten goals in six games while averaging three shots on goal per game.
Maheshe, a first-year business administration student, talked about why he came to NAIT. "I have a good relationship with the soccer coach, and I knew a couple of the players on the team. The business program was also really good at NAIT, so that helped make my choice easier."
Being the top scorer in the league is a significant accomplishment, but he is humble about the title. "It feels good to be the leading scorer in the league and be able to contribute to the team in that manner," said Maheshe.
The NAIT Ooks men's soccer team is going into the North final playoff game this weekend; when asked about his team, Maheshe said, "yes, I have a strong feeling this team will go all the way, we've really grown as a team since the start of the season in the number of games we've played, and I've seen improvements in a lot of individuals that will help make the team even stronger."
Not only is he a star on the soccer pitch, but Maeshe is also fluent in three languages, French, Swahili, and English.
