This season Anirudh Sharma has come out the gate swinging in his first season as a NAIT Ook. In tournament one, he came in second in men's singles. In tournament two, he came in first in men's doubles with partner Davis Wong and third in mixed doubles with Ivy Ung. In tournament three, Wong and Sharma reigned victorious as they came in first in men's doubles, and Sharma and Ung moved up one spot to place second in mixed doubles.
"Anirudh has made a tremendous impact on our team since joining this season. His infectious energy has been a valuable asset to the team, and he always strives to improve and learn daily. As a key player in the team's success, we rely heavily on him to perform at his best, especially as we aim to bring home the provincial championship title. I am confident that he will be a formidable force in the upcoming championships, both in the team and the individual events," said Head Coach Alan Chow.
Sharma is a first-year student in the Business Administration program. Despite not having played badminton for many years and not having many accolades in his career, Sharma's game does not reflect it. He has demonstrated impressive skills on the court, and his dedication and hard work to the sport are evident in his performance. Sharma consistently gives his best effort during every match, showcasing his talent and potential for future success.
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2023 ACAC Badminton Championship hosted by Concordia in Edmonton, Alberta.
