The dynamic duo of Shawn Gunnink and Hannah Warford are poised to represent the NAIT Ooks on a national stage this week at the 2023 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross-Country Running National Championships. This thrilling event is hosted by Dalhousie Agricultural Campus (DAL AC) in Truro, NS, and is scheduled for November 10-11, 2023.
Gunnink and Warford, having demonstrated their exceptional ability in the ACAC regional competitions, secured their coveted spots at the Nationals.
Taking place amidst the scenic beauty of Victoria Park, a sprawling 3000-acre natural expanse nestled in the heart of Truro, the championship promises a challenging and picturesque course for these talented runners. Victoria Park, a local gem known for its rich history spanning over 130 years, offers a tapestry of diverse terrains—perfect for an exhilarating cross-country challenge.
The starting gun will echo on Saturday, November 11th, as both runners aim to make a name on the national stage. Warford hits the trail in the women's 6K race at 2:15 pm AT, with Gunnink following close after in the men's 8K race at 3:15 pm AT.
