After an impactful journey with the NAIT Ooks Men's Basketball Program, Jordan Baker will be leaving NAIT to embark on a new chapter in his career. In the 2023 season, he assumed the position of Head Coach for both the NAIT Ooks and the Edmonton Stingers, showcasing his prowess in leadership and strategic guidance. As he steps back from NAIT, Baker is set to transition within the Stingers organization, taking on the role of Head Coach and General Manager.
Jordan Richey, Director of Athletics and Recreation at NAIT, reflected on Baker's contributions to the men's basketball program. "NAIT Athletics has enjoyed having Jordan as our NAIT men's basketball coach the past three seasons. While his time at NAIT may have been short, he has had a lasting impact on our program moving forward. His teams play hard and have done well in the classroom," remarked Richey.
During his time as Head Coach, Baker helped lead the Ooks to three post-season appearances.
Richey expressed confidence in the enduring influence of Baker's coaching philosophy. "Jordan brought a strong work ethic to the NAIT men's basketball team. His attention to detail and his emphasis on academic and basketball accountability were attributes that stood out to me about Jordan," Richey added.
