The Golf team hit the greens for round one of the ACAC Golf Championships on Sunday at the Alberta Springs Golf Course. It was a great showing for the team, who will be continuing to compete over Monday and Tuesday as well.
Day 1 Recap: The men's side saw Tanner Visser leading the rankings, standing in third place with four under. The competition has been close, with Mason Gorski tied for 6th place with three other players, all sitting at +1, followed by Brophy Dunne with +2. Together, the team's strong performances carried them to a second-place finish at the end of day one.
On the women's side, Ella Dolan finished in a solid third place with +12. Teammate Anna Atcheynum stands in 7th, while Lexi Gedny rounds out the top ten.
Day 2 Recap: The NAIT Ooks had a solid performance across all divisions. The men's team finished third, while both the women's and mixed teams claimed second place finishes. Individually, Mason Gorski stood out on the men's side, shooting a 76 to finish in 5th place. Cayden Clark made an impressive jump up the leaderboard, improving by nine strokes from his Day 1 score, shooting a 72 to tie for 10th place alongside Brophy Dunne, who carded a 79. On the women's side, Ella Dolan continued to impress, shooting a 78, which secured her second place heading into the final day.
Day 3 Recap: The final day saw the NAIT Ooks shine, bringing home triple silver and a bronze medal. The men's, women's, and mixed teams all captured silver medals. Individually, Ella Dolan earned a bronze medal, shooting an 83 in her final round. Mason Gorski shot a stellar 71, Cayden Clark posted a 73, and Tanner Visser added a 75, helping the men's team to secure the silver and qualify for the CCAA National Championships.
Ella Dolan also qualified for nationals on the women's side and earned a spot on the ACAC Women's Team, which includes the top six female golfers in the conference. Both the men's team and Ella will compete at the CCAA National Championships at RedCrest Golf Club from October 14-18.
