As the holiday season approaches, we asked three of our student-athletes to share their favorite sports-related holiday memories. Their stories highlight the joy, connection, and fun that sports bring to the holidays. Here's what they had to say:
Mikah Reed – Women's Basketball
"My whole extended family plays a basketball game every Christmas. We do parents vs. kids, and until recently, the parents had won every year. It's one of my favorite memories because it brings us all together using the sport we love."
Antonio Benjamin – Men's Basketball
"I played football in high school, and I got to play in a Christmas tournament. I went to high school in Texas, and the tournament was in Minnesota. I got to play in the snow for the first time, and it was so fun."
Halle Graham – Women's Hockey
"When I was little, we had this outdoor rink tournament, and we played a game outside in the snow. It was a magical childhood memory."
From all of us at NAIT Athletics, we wish you a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Whether you're playing a sport, cheering on your team, or spending time with loved ones, we hope your holidays are truly special.
