Both the men's and women's hockey teams had great weekends, sweeping their opponents.
Men's hockey defeated the Portage Voyagers 5-4 on Friday and came back stronger with a 6-3 win Saturday night.
Friday's game was a nail-biter as the Ooks were down 2-1 in the first, but Ethan Leyer and Ashton McNelly were on fire in the second, both scoring a goal to make it 3-3.
This was followed by George Odin scoring a goal three minutes into the third and Jared Brock with the Ook's final goal of the night, making it 5-4.
On Saturday night, the boys started off strong, leading 3-2 after the second, with Ethan Leyer, Ashton McNelly, and Josh Medernach being in full force in the third, scoring three goals.
Women's hockey defeated the Olds College Broncos 3-2 the first night and came back Saturday night crushing them 3-0.
On Friday, Cheyenna Harden started the night off strong for the Ooks, scoring the first goal fifteen minutes into the first. Jorja Imrie came up big, saving a penalty shot to keep her team ahead to win 3-2.
On Saturday, Cassidy Shandro was on fire as she scored a goal just 3 minutes into the game, followed by Sidney Kobi scoring in the second and Jessica Engelbrecht scoring in the third unassisted. Their goalie, Jorja Imrie, had a great second night, saving all 14 shots the Broncos took, helping the Ooks secure that 3-0 victory and earning her first ACAC shutout.
