Curling
The ACAC Curling championships took place over the weekend, and the Ooks men's curling team won bronze. They beat Lakeland in the first round 5-2 but unfortunately lost to Sait in the semi-final 6-1.
They faced off against Lakeland again for the bronze medal match, where they swept them 7-1, taking home bronze for the Ooks.
Basketball
Men's basketball won Friday night against the Concordia Thunder with a score of 78-59. Omar Farrah led the offense, scoring 17 points, whilst Patrick Fisher had 11 rebounds that game.
Unfortunately, the men fell short to CUE on Saturday night, losing 90-71. Serhat Chen put up 17 points for the Ooks, but unfortunately, it was not enough to help pull out a win.
Women's basketball swept Concordia over the weekend with a 61-52 win Friday night and an 86-66 win Saturday night. Payton Neilson was dominant Friday night with a total of 21 points in that game.
On Saturday Night, Payton Neilson and Mikah Reed came together, both putting up 19 points for the Ooks in that game.
Volleyball
Both men's and women's volleyball teams had a great weekend as they swept Concordia over the weekend. The men won Friday night 3-1, with Joel Nickle having an impressive count of 19 kills.
On Saturday, they won 3-0 over the Thunder, with Josh Watson putting up 10 kills and four service aces for the Ooks.
Women's volleyball had a great weekend, sweeping Concordia both nights 3-0. Friday night, Rachel Mallet put up 12 kills for the Ooks, while Courtney Webber led the defense with 20 digs that night.
On Saturday night, Jessica Zilinski put up seven kills for the Ooks, averaging a .462 hitting percentage.
Hockey
Men's Hockey had a great weekend as they beat SAIT both nights. Friday, they won 6-5 with Josh Hoekstra putting up 2 goals for the Ooks. Saturday Night, the men won 5-2, with Tyler Blocha putting up a goal 6 minutes into the second unassisted.
Women's Hockey also had a fantastic weekend, as they won both nights against Medicine Hat. Friday, they crushed the Rattlers 7-0, with Abby Robar putting up a goal for the Ooks just 52 seconds into the game.
Saturday night, they won 5-2, with both Cassidy Shandro and Abby Robar having 2 assists in that game.
