2025 Cross-Country Season Preview
September 6, 2025
The Ooks' cross-country team is getting ready to enter a new and exciting season of sports. After their great performance in the ACAC (Alberta College Athletic Conference), where they took the bronze medals in both men's and women's events. They have the energy to get back to work, with a blend of new and returning faces, and the team is expecting to get back to the national scene.
It has not been easy since they have lost some players who were vital for their goal, but they keep their good spirit, focused on what they want to achieve.
Both men's and women's teams have new and returning talents, where we can highlight some names like Brynn Hebert, who was transferred from St. FX in Nova Scotia, Marrin Johnson, their captain, Aelyn Switzer, Kamryn Aebly, and Pamela Rutto.
On the men's side, Taylor Hudak, Roman Tiessen, Cameron Bakal, Noah Hoffart, Liam Maynes, and Dylan Leadlayh look ready and decided to help their team get to that desired goal of entering the nationals.
The effort that the cross-country team is putting in from the first minute is going to be synchronized teamwork, and with the new addition of Hannah Warford, who was a member of last year's qualifying team as an assistant coach, it will become a great support to make any type of challenge easier to manage, and it will make them exceed their own expectations.
That is why, in the words of their former coach Ron Barnhart, the 2025 season is shaping up to be their best season yet.
