Bio
Alan first discovered badminton at a young age while training at the Derrick Club, quickly rising to become one of Alberta’s top juniors. He went on to compete in tournaments across the province and later at the Open and Masters levels, where he continues to rank among Alberta’s top players.
As a college athlete, Alan represented both NAIT and Concordia, qualifying for Nationals in each of his seasons and earning a silver medal finish. His competitive experience has shaped his coaching career, where he has spent years developing players at the junior and collegiate levels. Alan has trained several of Alberta’s top athletes, including one who captured a national title.
Today, as head coach of the NAIT Ooks, Alan is committed to building a strong culture of development, teamwork, and excellence, while sharing his passion for the sport with the next generation.
