Bio

Tyler Leicht is entering his first season with the NAIT Golf Team in 2023. Tyler is a graduate of the University of Alberta where he completed his combined Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Kinesiology. After graduating from the University of Alberta in 2021, Tyler went on to pass his Play Ability Test (PAT) with the Professional Golf Association of Canada, and works as a Golf Professional at the Derrick Golf and Winter in Edmonton, AB.  Tyler is entering his 7thseason at the Derrick Club, 3rd as a PGA of Canada Professional. 

At the Derrick Golf and Winter Club, Tyler plays a large role in the Junior Golf Program at the Derrick Club where he teaches and coaches numerous junior golf classes, teams, and programs that span the ages of 3-18. Tyler competes yearly in PGA of Alberta tournaments and events where he enjoys the competition and comradery that comes with playing. 

Growing up in Grande Prairie, AB, Tyler played hockey for the Grande Peace Athletic Club in the winters and worked at the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club in the summer. Tyler’s hockey career took him across Western Canada and ended with him beginning his post-secondary studies at the UofA. Following hockey and school, Golf turned from passion to career and Tyler has never looked back.  

In addition to being the Head Golf Coach at NAIT, Tyler was the NAIT Ooks Assistant Women’s Hockey Coach from 2021-2023 with Head Coach Brendan Jensen. Tyler lives in Beaumont, AB with his wife Brittani and dog Sundae.
