OLDS, ALTA - The NAIT Ooks opened up the 2019 ACAC Curling Championships on Friday in Olds. The men's, women's and mixed teams all qualified and will be fighting for ACAC Gold. The top three men's and women's teams will earn a birth to the CCAA/Curling Canada National Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick March 15-19. The men come into the tournament a perfect 12-0 in first place atop the ACAC Standings. They will be competing against the Concordia Thunder (9-3), RDC Kings (7-5) and the Lakeland Rustlers (5-7). The women come into the tournament as the second seed with a record of 8-4. They will be competing against the MacEwan Griffins (11-1), RDC Queens (7-5) and Augustana Vikings (5-7). The mixed team also come into the tournament as the two seed with a record of 7-3. They will be competing against the Augustana Vikings, Lakeland Rustlers, and RDC Kings/Queens. At the ACAC All-Conference awards banquet Friday night, the men's team (Trygg Jensen, Jonah Tobinski, John Ritchie and Brett Winfield) was named as the entire ACAC Men's All-Conference Team. While Ryan Saville was named to the mixed team.
