The NAIT Ooks Curling team earned three medals at the ACAC Curling Championships.
OLDS, ALTA. - The NAIT Ooks Curling team captured three medals at the ACAC Curling Championships this past weekend in Olds.
The mixed team claimed gold as they defeated the Lakeland Rustlers 7-3 after going -1 in round robin play. The men fell to the Concordia Thunder 5-2 to claim a silver medal. The women would take home bronze as they defeated the Red Deer College Queens 8-7 in extra ends.
The men's and women's teams will now head to the CCAA/Curling Canada National Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick March 15-19.
At the ACAC All-Conference awards banquet Friday night, the men's team (Trygg Jensen, Jonah Tobinski, John Ritchie and Brett Winfield) was named as the entire ACAC Men's All-Conference Team. While Ryan Saville was named to the mixed team.
