EDMONTON, Alta. - Yasser Abdullahi is returning to the NAIT men's basketball program for the 2020-2021 season.

Abdullahi brings terrific basketball ability to the Ooks lineup as well as tremendous experience as well, having been a member of NAIT's CCAA National Championship team in 2015-2016. The Ross Sheppard High School grad also captured a city championship in 2015 as a member of the Thunderbirds, where he was also the Metro MVP. Yasser was sidelined by injury after a semester at Grande Prairie Regional College, where he averaged 10.8 pts and 5.4 rebs per game in 2016-2017. Most recently, Yasser was selected to the 2020 Somalia National Team , who competed in the FIBA Africa Qualifiers. NAIT head coach Slav Kornik is looking forward to the ability, character, and experience that Yasser will bring to the 2020-2021 edition of the Ooks.
