EDMONTON, Alta.- Calgary's Ajo Simon has committed to joining the NAIT Ooks men's basketball program. In his grade 12 season at Notre Dame High School in 2018-2019, Ajo averaged 25 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 5.4 APG. The rookie guard will bring athleticism, an impressive skill set and a tremendous work ethic to the Ooks program.
"As a basketball player, as a student and as a young adult, I've seen many things in life to make life traumatic, but the game of basketball has kept me steady and well-rounded," Simon said. "I'm glad I can join the Ooks family and be part of something special here."
Coach Slav Kornik said he expects Simon to be a positive impact on the Ooks program, even as a rookie.
"Ajo is mature beyond his years and a terrific young man. I've been very impressed with Ajo's desire to not only play basketball at the post-secondary level but his desire to get an education," Kornik said. "I'm excited to help him achieve both objectives as a student-athlete at NAIT."
