EDMONTON, ALTA. - The NAIT Ooks men's hockey team defeated the RDC Kings 10-1 Friday night in the NAIT Arena.
The Ooks came out firing on all cylinders to begin the new year. They struck early and often, stunning the first place RDC Kings. NAIT saw points from 14 different players in the 10 goal performance, outshooting the King's 48-28. Ooks' Brendan Jensen made 18 saves before being pulled from the game for precautionary reasons after a collision with Red Deer's Chance Longjohn. Patrick Gora allowed one goal on ten shots in replacement of Jensen.
The game began to get a little chippy as the score increased, the two teams collectively racked up 78 minutes in penalties.
"Overall it was a solid effort, we got a few favourable bounces. We need to be prepared for tomorrow, they are a good team and will respond with a strong effort," said NAIT Ooks head coach, Tim Fragle.

The NAIT Ooks improve to 11-4 and now sit tied atop the ACAC standings with RDC who falls to 10-4-1-1.
