CALGARY, ALTA. - The SAIT Trojans battle back to win game two 5-3 over the NAIT Ooks, forcing a game three in the ACAC Men's Hockey Semifinal.
Both teams came out ready to battle, after a chippy game one which the Ooks won 2-1. The Trojans struck first as SAIT's Parker Evans-Campbell scored just 61 seconds into the game to put his team up 1-0. NAIT responded as Curtis Roach and Devon McAndrews scored within three minutes of each other to put the Ooks up 2-1. Eric Krienke added a goal for SAIT before the end of the opening period. The teams headed into the first intermission tied at two.
Dylan Stewart scored early in the second period to give the Ooks a 3-2 lead. The Trojans answered with two goals of their own to take a 4-3 lead through forty minutes.
The third period would be a scoreless gridlock until the Trojans scored on the Ooks empty net with 9.3 seconds remaining to take the game 5-3.
The series will now be decided Sunday night in the NAIT Arena at 6:30 pm. The winning team will punch their ticket to the ACAC Championship final to face the MacEwan Griffins.
