EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks men's ice hockey team defeated the Portage Voyageurs 6-2 on Saturday night in the NAIT Arena.
For a second straight night, the Ooks dominated played putting up 50+ shots and allowing fewer than 20 shots in back-to-back games. Tonight they put 51 shots on net and scored on six of them while allowing two goals.
First-year forward Jared Legien led the way with a hat-trick and a four-point night, while Dylan Stewart added two goals and an assist. Portage's goals came from Ian Jarvis and Cole Keenleyside.
"We played well for the most part in both games. We got lots of chances but had trouble finishing," said Ooks' head coach Tim Fragle. "Give them credit, they played hard and had some great goaltending."
