SHERWOOD PARK, Alta. – The NAIT Ooks fall to the Lethbridge College Kodiaks 2-1 in the semi-final game of the ACAC Men's Soccer Championship.
The Kodiaks began with the wind at their back, and they made the most of it. Lethbridge scored twice in the opening half, both off of corner kicks. Owen Beers and Ben Knight were the two goal scorers.
NAIT had the wind helping them in the second half, but they struggled to utilize it. Several chances resulted in 0 goals until the 88th when Matt Zima scored for the Ooks. It was too little too late for NAIT as they were short a man due a red card late in the game.
"We played our best game of the year in my opinion, which we had to do. Anytime you face NAIT, you need to be at your best," said Kodiaks head coach Sean Carey following the game.
The Kodiaks will take on the winner of the SAIT Trojans and RDC Kings at 6:30pm tomorrow night. The Ooks will take on the losers.
