On Sunday afternoon at Edmonton Scottish, the NAIT Ooks beat the Concordia Thunder in the north game three playoff game. The final score was 6-0 after 90:00 minutes of play.
The NAIT Ooks got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute with an unassisted goal by Riju Roy. It wasn't long until they struck again with another unassisted Ook goal scored by Javier Cassie in the 15th minute.
The Concordia Thunder was putting the pressure on in the first half. They had a couple of great chances but couldn't capitalize. Concordia goalkeeper, Scott Hornbeck, made a few great saves to keep his team in the game.
It was 2-0 NAIT Ooks at the half.
It was quiet until the 65th minute when NAIT Ooks, Matthew Zima scored assisted by Cristian Lima, who leads the league in assists this season.
The top scorer in the league, NAIT Ooks forward Ousman Maheshe, finally found his way onto the score sheet in the 67th minute, assisted by Lima.
It was Lima's chance to shine when he scored unassisted in the 75th minute. Cristian Lima not only has the most assists in the league, but he also has the overall most points in the league this season.
The Concordia Thunder had a great chance late in the second, but the NAIT Ooks took it back into the offensive zone, where Maheshe capitalized on the opportunity and added another goal to the game sheet.
The NAIT Ooks will be moving on to play again on Saturday, October 23rd, at home.
