The NAIT Ooks men's soccer team battled the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves at home on a brisk Saturday afternoon. The Wolves stormed out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to Kohl Osborne, with goals coming in the 3rd and 13th-minute marker. Not to be outdone, ACAC all-time scoring leader Matt Zima potted his first of 3 goals on the afternoon at the 30-minute mark via a penalty kick. Following Zima's goal, the momentum swung the Ooks' way, and they controlled much of the play for the remainder of the first half. Wolves goaltender Evan Doerksen had to come up big to keep the Wolves ahead by one as the game headed to half-time; 2-1.
The second half saw both teams come out defensively sound, with few opportunities generated by either team.
Zima got the game-tying goal in the 51st minute, and the Ooks never looked back, with goals coming from veterans Cristian Lima and Javier Cassie shortly thereafter. The Ooks controlled the pace of the game as the time came to an end, with the final score Ooks 5 and Wolves 2.
Mike Authenac took home player of the game honours for the Wolves, while Prithhib Roy captured it for the Ooks.
