The NAIT Ooks men's soccer team kicked off against the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves in the last regular season game. It was an electric afternoon, and the Ooks came out on top 6-1 in front of their home crowd.
It was a close battle in the first half. Both teams were battling their hearts out for the ball. The Ooks finally broke through in the 39th minute with a great goal from Cristian lima, assisted by Matt Zima.
The score was 1-0 for the Ooks at the half.
The Ooks came out blazing at the start of the second half as Isaac Ayolade hit it home in the 46th minute. Pedro Neto added another tally to the NAIT total a minute later to give the team a 3-0 lead early in the second half.
The Ooks didn't stop there, though, as Ayolade scored for the Ooks, assisted by Matt Hinteregger. The Wolves started to push back and keep the Ooks at a distance in an attempt to get back in the game.
Emmanuel Bisirat scored the Ooks' 5th goal, assisted by Riju Roy in the 75th minute. The Ooks kept the pressure on the Wolves, scoring the 6th goal in the 85th minute by Merone Werede. The Wolves kept going, and their hard work paid off in the last second of the game as Evan Doerksen put it past Ryan Gillie, breaking his shutout.
The players of the game were Sean Whitby for the Wolves and Chris Gakona for the Ooks.
