Friday night the NAIT Ooks Men's Volleyball team had their home opener against the King's University Eagles in the NAIT Gymnasium. The Ooks took home a 3-1 win
The first set was a close one between the Ooks and the Eagles. The set was a close one, with the Ooks taking the lead but the eagles were close behind. The Eagles battled hard and had some great attacks throughout the set. They were refusing to let the Ooks get ahead without a fight. However it wasn't enough as the Ooks took the set with a win of 25-22
In the second set the score went back and forth with the Eagles taking the lead. The Ooks had a massive block and hit from number six, Daniel Ward, gaining the Ooks some momentum; however, the Eagles held tight to their lead. With the Ooks taking a timeout in hopes to regroup and gain some momentum. The Eagles took the set with a win of 25-18
In the third set the Ooks came out on fire with some big hits from ooks number 15, Shae McIntyre but the Eagles were not out yet, they fought hard with some big blocks. The set was neck and neck with the Eagles close behind the Ooks but it wasnt enough as the Ooks took the win of 25-22 over the eagles.
In the fourth set the Ooks took the lead but not without a fight from the Eagles.
The Eagles had a massive block by number eight, Mason Gorski and eleven, Carter Roflik. The Ooks weren't letting go of the lead though as Ooks number five, Carter Hills played a massive hit. The Eagles put up a fight however it wasn't enough as the Ooks won with a score of 25-18.
The players of the game were number eleven, Felix Dufour, and number four, Tanner Piers.
