Edmonton, AB - 4th year guard Leah Vandenboogaard scored a game-high 17 points Friday evening at NAIT, as she lead the Ooks to a 76-65 victory over the Concordia Thunder in ACAC women's basketball action.

The Ooks started the game strong leading at half by 15 points but then, Concordia came out strong on the third quarter and cut the lead to 6 points heading towards the fourth quarter. The Ooks maintained their composure on the fourth quarter and were able to spread the lead to double digits again. Jordan Lembryk lead the way for the Thunder with 11 points.

With this win, the Ooks begin the 2017-2018 season with a 1-0 record, while the Thunder move to 0-1. NAIT's next game is Saturday, October 14th at 6:00pm when they head to Concordia for a rematch.
