Edmonton, AB - Carly McHarg scored 16 points and added 8 rebounds and 3 steals in 26 minutes played as the NAIT Ooks topped the Lakeland Rustlers 75-61 in ACAC women's basketball action Friday night at the NAIT Gymnasium.
Shania Magnusson led the way for the Rustlers with 12 point and 5 rebounds in 25 minutes played in a losing cause.
The Ooks second quarter defence helped them set a tone for the rest of the match and kept them in the lead as they held the Rustlers to 6 second quarter points.
With this win the Ooks record improves 10-7 but remain 4th in the North Division of the ACAC, while the Rustlers fall to 12-5 and remain in the 3rd place of the North Division of the ACAC. Rematch of the weekend series will take place tomorrow Saturday February 3rd at 6:00pm when the Ooks travel to visit the Rustlers in Lloydminister.
