Ooks Open Up Season With Overtime Win Over Griffins
Edmonton, AB. - Carlin Boey's goal 54 seconds into the 2nd Overtime proved to be the winner as the NAIT Ooks defeated the MacEwan Griffins 3-2 in ACAC women's hockey action Friday at the Rogers Downtown Arena.
The Ooks goals were scored by the Carlin Boey (2) and Brittany Savard, respectively, while Carley Jewell and Shyla Jans replied in a losing cause for the Griffins. NAIT outshot the MacEwan 36-31.
With this win, the Ooks improve to 1-0-0, while the Griffins fall to 2-1-1. The two teams will rematch on Saturday at 6:00 pm in the NAIT Arena.
