EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks women's hockey team fell to the Olds College Broncos 1-0 on Saturday night in the NAIT Arena.
The Olds College Broncos' Kassy Gaudette beat Kaitlyn Slator with 13:33 remaining in the first period to put the visiting team up 1-0. From there, it was a battle of the goaltenders as both Slator and Lexi Bruce stood tall, not allowing another goal in the game. Late in the game, the Ooks made a push. Megan Leblanc had a Livia Lucova pass jump off her stick in front of a wide-open net. Seconds later, Bruce turned Leblanc away as she was all alone in front. That would be it for NAIT as Michaela Kibblewhite was called for a head contact penalty with under a minute remaining, forcing the Ooks to finish the game on the penalty kill.
